100 things to know about me

This post was inspired by RedRobinLand who I think I would be amazing friends with if we met, even though she doesn't "make friends easily." She's in library school, loves reading and books, yoga, photography....it's insane. I even stole her #37, 67 and 94. This was harder than it looks. I can see someone thinking it's pretentious, but I always enjoy reading memes and lists - plus, it's my blog, right? :) If you have a blog and are reading this, consider yourself "tagged."

001. I love writing and receiving letters
002. One of my favorite movies is Moonstruck
003. Sometimes I forget that I am here in the UAE until I am reminded when I look out the window
004. I smell almost everything
005. I am a feminist and liberal
006. I purposely don't get into politics on my blog
007. I am a picky eater from a long line of picky eaters
008. I think Sesame Street is genius
009. I wear alot of black
010. I am serious, but not nearly as much as you would think
011. I love that Eleanor is now using British words like biscuits
012. I watch some reality tv I wouldn't admit to quickly
013. I love taking naps
014. I never wear a watch--but maybe I should since I always want to know the time
015. My favorite stores are: Gap, Old Navy, Target, Ikea, Pottery Barn and Anthropology
016. I have crazy terrible eyesight and often worry about it
017. I am a bit of a hypochondriac
018. I need a shower first thing in the morning--much more important than caffeine
019. I love giving gifts, especially to children
020. I have learned alot about letting go with moving away
021. I read more children's books than adult
022. One of my favorite books is The Giver by Lois Lowry
023. I love This American Life. There is something very cool about listening to certain radio shows.
024. Fall is my favorite season
025. Christmas is my favorite holiday
026. My favorite Christmas songs are "Jingle Bells," songs sung by Nat King Cole, and Charlie Brown's Christmas Album
027. I am Catholic (some people might label me a "cafeteria Catholic"--can you see my eyes rolling?)
028. Foods I am missing lately- Cincinnati chili, Grippos barbeque chips, pork chops, my lasagna (need to find ricotta cheese)
029. We will be married for 8 years this December
030. Michael and I would like to return to Paris for our 10th anniversary. Hope it happens!
031. The perfect breakfast is scrambled eggs, bacon, and a belgian waffle - eaten in this order.
032. The first thing I want to do in a new city is see an art museum
033. I consider Goodnight Moon the best picture book ever written
034. Even though my hair is always pulled up in a bun librarian-style, it is out of control crazy in the mornings
035. Some of my favorite cities include Chicago, London, Paris, and Endinburgh
036. I am shocked I have still not been to NYC
037. I have weak teeth - I always have cavities
038. I am competitive and don't like that about myself
039. I love the Beatles
040. I love the name Beatrice and Henry
041. I am proud to be a librarian
042. My favorite flowers are lilies
043. I have an evil sense of humor
044. I am interested in learning more about the dress here in the Middle East
045. I don't like coffee

046. My favorite drink is Cherry Coke and I worry I drink way too much of it (see #37)

048. I wish I could swim better
049. I do want to write children's books but I am not ready yet

052. I used to get very angry when men would stare at me here, but now I am learning to ignore it

057. In moving half way around the world, I have realized how much more incredible many of my friends are. I love them.
058. I love that time of day when the day is turning into night and everything looks blue electric

061. I am thinking about starting up a women's book group here
062. While shy with people I don't know well, I am very much an extrovert around people who know me well

079. I hate exercising but love to walk and do yoga

081. My most special times during the day is when Eleanor and I are reading together

084. I am hoping to make the holidays special this year with being so far from home

086. I get very mad at American ignorance
087. I want Eleanor to know all the countries on a map
088. I hope she learns another language fluently
089. If I could pick one place to travel on holiday, it would be Italy!

092. I admit to being OCD (not a germaphobe, not necessarily crazy cleaning, but everything has a place it has to be)
093. I collect the copies of red Catcher in the Rye
094. I try to not be presumptous but come off that way sometimes I think
095. One of the happiest days in my life was getting Eleanor her new dollhouse a couple weeks ago
096. I talk with my hands alot
097. I am from a family of very loud talkers, but am not so loud myself
098. I spend money more freely than I'd like
099. I like a full frig and pantry
100. I think Jimmy Stewart (best as George Bailey) is sexy

Wow! Where did you find this again? Redrobinland? That would be fun to add to my blog but I would have to think of 100 things a person would want to know about me!

No recycling.... gasp! ;-)

And of course the holidays will be delightfully special this year, just have to get Michael to dress up as Santa. Eleanor would love that.

So fun! I love these 100 things lists. I love reading other people's and thinking of mine. It's cool to dissect yourself and document it this way.

And I LOVE your idea of collecting the red Catcher in the Rye. What an awesome collection that would be!
