1. We had heard the Al Ain English Speaking School opened their library to the community a couple afternoons a week for a small fee and yesterday, we made our first visit! After visiting the "Book Shop," in Al Jimi Mall, where the selection was not great and prices were high, I lowered my expectations for our first visit to the school library. And we ended up being very pleasantly surprised!
The library had two large rooms in their library completely full of books written in english - one for younger children containing board books, picture books, beginning readers and chapter books, and one room for the older students and adults, including both adult fiction and non-fiction. Unfortunately, since their library is small, we can only check out a total of 2 books per person, or 6 books for our family, but since we'll be back weekly, 6 will still be a nice amount to rotate in and out of our home for new and fresh titles.
2. The box of picture books we had packed before we left the US, that my Mom to mail once we had a PO box, ARRIVED! While the box looked like it had been through hell and back and amazing arrived in 1 week, the 50 books inside were in perfect shape and very exciting to go through. Eleanor and I happily spent much of the afternoon reading together! And she will give inspiration to what book to share with you every week or so.

Some of our favorites are in there! Enjoy!
I love these pictures! It's like Christmas came early for yoU!
Long lost friends, reunited! I heart E's shirt in these, and bare feet photos are my favorites. Etsy on the shirt?
The shirt is GAP! :) My favorite! I got it a month or so before we left. Did I tell you there is a Gap in Al Ain? Of course there will be one in Dubai and Abu Dhabit, but it's nice that there is one here too! I've not went yet, but just this week I started to need a fix.
Really love the pictures of her reading. What a lovely life you have, being able to spend so much time with her. I've always wanted to be able to stay home with Simon that way . . . even if you ARE far away from "home", you're making a great home there.
