I wanted to share a blog with my librarian friends and those lovers of books and libraries out there, if you aren't already reading it - take a look at A Librarian's Guide to Etiquette. Very funny. I think I can get an even better laugh right now since I am not working in libraries at the moment and it's not my day-to-day reality.
I love returning to this quote by film maker Michael Moore -
"I also really didn't realize the librarians were, you know, such a dangerous group. ... You think they're just sitting at the desk, all quiet and everything. They're like plotting the revolution, man. I wouldn't mess with them."
And this too -
"I'm a librarian, don't make me shush your ass." - unknown
Other librarian/library/bookish blogs I enjoy reading, to name a few -
Love the Liberry/ Shelf Check/ What Adrienne Thinks About That/ Your Neighborhood Librarian/ Librarian.net/ Book Nut/ The Wonderful Pen
Do you have any recommendations??
I couldn't help but add this photo to reinforce the whole sexy librarian thing. It always cracks me up, well, for the most part.

I laughed out loud at that Michael Moore quote....you closet revolutionary, you. At the moment the books I am in love with are all about history. The middle ages and the Renaissance. I have just finished "A World Lit by Fire" which was excellent and next on my list is "The Divine Comedy" by Dante.
:)
I'm also a big fan of A Librarian's Guide to Etiquette. They weren't updating for the longest time, but suddenly (happily!) they are again.
Ha, that blog is so funny! I love how they've done the titles of each post with the commas such as "Banned Books, Celebrating" and "Vendors, Hating".
Hilarious!
Love it! In my experiences, librarians know how to get the job done AND strike the fear of God into the hearts of heathens. Serious kudos to librarians :)
