I Have a Thing for Camels - a giveaway

Everytime I see a different great stuffed camel here I have to buy it. Eleanor now has count them, 6 camels and her new personal favorite-- "papa camel" (wearing traditional dress with tag stating "Papa camel loves to drink sweet arabic coffee and eat dates") makes me laugh. There's one more I have my eye on but I think Eleanor will survive with these 6.

Along the way I've also managed to pick up a few camel puzzles, bags, tshirts, and magnets, as well as some little camels for cousins and little friends back home. These are all special items that represent our time here that we wouldn't be able to get back home. I smile thinking of Eleanor playing with them when we get back. I have no idea how I'm going to get all this stuff back in our luggage. We'll see!

This small camel here has really taken my heart. I like his big funny legs. Since I am coming upon a year of this blog and we have less than a week left in the UAE, I want to do a little giveaway and gift this cute camel perfect for you or a little friend :) All you have to do is leave a comment before next Wednesday, July 29th. It's a chance for me to also "meet" some of you who have visited and maybe not commented. Good luck!

Update: thanks to the help of a random number generator, the winner of this cute camel is Jessi! Jessi ironically is a friend of mine! And since I'll be home faster than the mail (yippee!), I'll just bring him home with me :) Thanks for all of your comments.

Hello. My name is Jennifer. Although I don't follow your blog I do visit regularly to see what you've been up to. I find your posts very interesting as I have a little girl around the same age and we are also living in a different country(although not so exotic I'm afraid). Hope you have a safe journey home.

If you're going to have a thing for any animal...a camel is a wonderful choice. They always look so content and friendly :) Maybe they're not...those are just the character traits I've assigned to them in my mind!

I hope your last week in UAE is great. I'm sure you have loads of family and friends eagerly awaiting your arrival back home!

Oh, I love it! So adorable. My son would have a ball carrying him all around. He is really into animals of all sorts.
Have really enjoyed reading your Al Ain blog... Will you carry on blogging once you're home in the States? I hope so! Am a children's librarian, and a young mum, too... Always love to read the stories of other people in similar (and so different!) situations.
Safe travels to you and your family, Cheryl!

I hope I can enter. This is so cute. AWWW, I love it. My sister went to a school where their mascot was a camel. :)

I have some giveaways on my blog if you want to stop by and enter. One that your daughter might like too if she's young enough...I guess. LOL Spread Heads. They are awesome.

Cheryl, I have so appreciated your blog this year, the pictures of Eleanor, your thoughtful ruminations on living far away, visiting your blog has been a timeout for me in many ways. I can't wait to see you in person but will miss your dispatches from faraway

Thanks for all the comments
Erin, I definitely am going to continue blogging - but on another blog. I'll post about it soon. It won't be nearly as interesting or exotic as this blog, but hopefully a bit! xx
